The Curious Savage by John Patrick
Directed by Annette Johns
What would you do with ten million dollars if it were willed to you? In Stage Coach Players’ next summer production, the main character answers that question, a question which most of us will never need to answer. THE CURIOUS SAVAGE is the story of Ethel Savage, who decides to use the ten million dollars her husband left her to establish a fund to help others realize their foolish dreams.
THE CURIOUS SAVAGE is a high comedy that will leave the audience with a feeling that the neglected virtues of kindness and affection have not been entirely lost in this world–one that seems motivated at times only by greed and dishonesty. These vices, unfortunately, are quite obvious in her three selfish children.
Committed to “The Cloisters” by these children, Mrs. Savage meets five wonderfully eccentric misfits who cannot adjust to life in the outside world. Elements of mystery, music, and pathos are all evident in this delightful late 1940’s comedy which is suitable for the entire family.
